Work on Electronic Music No.25 by William Lennox was started in 1983 at the Durham Univ Electronic Music Studios, U.K.
It may be noticed that looking at the length of time on some compositions - this is case in mind.
The work on this composition was effectively stopped by J.Casken when he came to run the studios - why he should make a particular effort to stop this work by a visiting composer - you will have to check - but the main reason typical of the political aspects of Universities and composers was that J.Casken was a composer of primarily instrumental music - and as he was coming to run a studio of electronic music - which was not his main interest he felt he was better of removing any composers that could highlight this weakness. Or more likely he simply was becoming a University academic and was exercising the first law of resident academics make sure you keep all the facilities for yourself and push out anyone possibly representing a threat to long term security and pensioned life.
